As the Swing Person (Production) the successful candidate will be able to work effectively both independently and within a team, which will allow production to capitalize on efficiencies promoting thru put to meet customer requirements. You will work collaboratively with the Plant Leadership team to ensure continuous operation at our state of the art feed manufacturing facilities.

Your day to day activities will include:

• Have a working knowledge of feed mixing, the pelleting process and shipping and receiving.
• Have knowledge of major feed ingredients and medications.
• Work according to master schedule, various shifts including some weekends, opportunity for additional overtime may be available.
• Be able to operate computerized batching system and pellet processing equipment.
• Be able to life / handle 25kg to 40 kg in a safe manner.
• Be able to read digital readouts with extreme accuracy.
• Have an understanding of quality control practices and procedures.
• Have a focus on the housekeeping and cleanliness of the facility.
• Be able to cope with numerous job functions operating at the same time.
• Be industrious and be able to work with minimal supervision.
• A mechanical aptitude would be a definite asset in assisting with maintenance duties.
• Abide by and observe all safety rules and company policies, including completion of all required safety training.
• Possession of an AZ or DZ license would be considered an asset.
• Able to load and unload trucks, including operation of a forklift.
• Must be able to perform other related assigned duties including HACCP and GMP regulations.

The successful candidate should enter the position with the following qualifications:

• Minimum of OSSD, post-secondary education would be preferred.
• Experience working in a Feed Mill or production setting, would be considered an asset.
• Excellent Communication and Reporting Skills.
• Can work independently and in a team environment.
• Effective time-management skills with ability to meet deadlines, and achieve targets in a team environment.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instruction.
• Demonstrate applicable ethics and due diligence.
• Manage time effectively.
• Effective attention to detail.
