About the Role
As part of a new residential and commercial waste collection contract launching in Chilliwack in May 2026, we are hiring a Swing Driver - Front End / Roll Off. This role is designed to support both Front End commercial collection routes and Roll Off operations, providing coverage for scheduled routes, open routes, vacation relief, and operational needs. The Swing Driver must be adaptable, safety focused, and experienced in waste operations, with the ability to operate multiple truck types while delivering reliable service to commercial, construction, and multi-family customers.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate Front End Garbage Trucks and Roll Off Trucks as assigned
Service commercial and multi-family Front End routes according to scheduled stops
Deliver, exchange, and remove Roll Off containers at commercial, construction, and multi-family sites
Secure and transport containers safely to and from disposal facilities
Maneuver large vehicles in tight spaces and varied site conditions
Perform daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs
Inspect bins, containers, and equipment for damage, contamination, or safety concerns
Follow all municipal, provincial, and company waste collection standards
Comply with all traffic regulations, safety protocols, and company policies
Represent the company professionally at all customer locations
Communicate service issues such as blocked access, damaged containers, or delays to dispatch
Maintain a customer focused and respectful approach at all times
Maintain accurate driver logs, route documentation, and service records
Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding route changes, service requests, or delays
Provide operational support as needed to ensure service continuity
Qualifications
Valid Class 3 Driver's License with Air Brake Endorsement
Clean Driver's Abstract
2+ years of professional driving experience, within in the waste industry
Experience operating Front End and or Roll Off trucks
Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and adapt to changing daily assignments
