About the Role:

Thoel Farms is a progressive and growing swine operation. We are currently seeking an experienced, motivated, and reliable individual to join our team. We are looking for support across our operations, including our sow barn and nursery near Arthur, as well as our new sow barn facility in Southgate.

This is currently a Part-Time position, but for the right candidate who demonstrates dedication and skill, there is significant potential for this to evolve into a Full-Time role.

Key Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for the daily care and well-being of livestock, ensuring high standards of animal welfare and biosecurity are met. Duties include:

Animal Care: Ensure proper care, feeding, and comfort of sows, gilts, and piglets during all stages of production.
Farrowing & Processing: Assist the Farrowing Technician with the birthing process, processing litters, and general piglet care/weaning.
Breeding: Assist with heat detection and Artificial Insemination (AI) as required.
Health Monitoring: Monitor animal health daily, interpret labels, and administer medications/vaccines strictly according to protocols.
Maintenance & Sanitation: Operate high-pressure washers to ensure cleanliness/sanitation standards are met.
Record Keeping: Ensure accurate production and health records are met.
Requirements:

Experience: Previous experience working in a sow barn is required. We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running.
Transportation: Must possess a valid G-Driver's license and have reliable transportation to commute to work (Arthur and Southgate locations).
Schedule: We offer flexible hours.
Physical Capabilities: Ability to lift heavy objects, move animals, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written), and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
