Job: Swim Coach - Langley Flippers Swim Club

Location:

Walnut Grove Community Center, Langley

Salary

: $25+/ hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Hours

: Tuesdays 5:15pm - 7:00pm or Sundays 8:00am - 10:00am (or both)

Job Duration:

Oct 5, 2025 - April 2026 (3 week break over winter holidays)

Responsibilities: Coaching and mentoring competitive swimmers and/or Little Flippers, basic dryland training, writing workouts, communicating with parents

COACH QUALIFICATIONS

NL, CPR C, First Aid and NCCP Level 1 certified or trained are all assets, but not required.

Experience in competitive swimming is preferred.

The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate a strong ability to coach children, between the ages of 4 - 18, having the ability to motivate the swimmers and develop their swimming technique.

You must be a self-starter, capable of creating new ideas and implementing them. You should have good communication skills and feel comfortable communicating with swimmers, coaches and parents.

MAIN DUTIES

Work with swimmers to help them achieve their goals, following the club's coaching plan in a productive and efficient manner. Abide by all policies and code of conduct as set out by the Langley Flippers Swim Club. Be aware and understand the facility emergency action plan and normal operating procedures for Walnut Grove Community Center.
