Prairie Waves Swim School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic daytime and an evening swim instructor to join our team in the new year. The ideal candidates will have a passion for teaching and a strong ability to educate individuals of all ages in swimming techniques and water safety. As a Swim Instructor, you will play a crucial role in developing students' swimming skills, ensuring their safety, and fostering a love for the water.

Duties

Conduct swimming lessons for individuals and groups of varying skill levels, from beginners to advanced swimmers. Educate students on proper swimming techniques and water safety rules. Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their skills. Communicate effectively with students and their parents regarding progress, challenges, and achievements.

Skills

Strong swimming skills with the ability to demonstrate various strokes effectively. Excellent communication skills to educate students clearly and effectively. Patience and adaptability to work with individuals of all ages and skill levels. Knowledge of water safety practices and emergency procedures. Ability to motivate and encourage students to achieve their swimming goals.

Requirements

NLA/CPR-Standard First Aid Certified Previous experience instructing swim lessons, either in a group or private setting Previous or current certification in WSI or Swim for Life Instructor an asset, but not necessary Day-time instructor must be available to work during the week, between 930am-3pm. Evening swim instructor must be available for weekday evenings, between 4pm-8pm and potentially some daytime Sunday shifts. Reliable and consistent attendance is essential to the success of this position Reliable transportation is essential.
We are looking for a day-time instructor to train with us this fall and start in January 2026. Our evening instructor would have an anticipated start date of November 2025.
