We're hiring Part-time Swim Instructors at our North York location,

and we want you to be part of our vibrant team!

Reporting to the Aquatics & Sports Supervisor, the

Swim Instructor

role is critical in providing enjoyable experiences for class participants, and assists in the planning, instruction, and evaluation of lesson patrons. This position also plays a supportive role in emergency situations, accident prevention and responding to situations.

Due to the nature of Aquatics Programming, staff are required to be available to work primarily during evenings and weekends throughout the school year. Camp Programming occurs during school breaks and P.A. Days, typically between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Plan and deliver engaging swim lessons using daily lesson plans and long-term core plans to ensure progressive learning Provide high-quality instruction and evaluations for participants Set up and clean up the pool deck before and after lessons Maintain participant safety through effective class formations and scanning techniques Create, maintain and complete end-of-session report cards as required Follow emergency procedures when required Deliver excellent customer service to members and guests Participate in and help host scheduled promotional events Attend regular in-service training sessions Perform additional duties as assigned

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C certifications Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor certification National Lifeguard certification (an asset but not required) Strong communication and customer service skills Availability to work evenings, weekends, and camp programs

NICE TO HAVE:

Lifesaving Society Lifesaving Instructor Certification National Lifeguard Instructor Certification Standard First Aid Instructor Certification Lifesaving Examiners Certification High Five Certifications Knowledge of and/or working towards HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development and/or Quest 2
