Job Description

We are seeking experienced and dedicated Swim Instructors to join our team, providing comprehensive swim instruction services to individuals of all ages and abilities in and around Vancouver. The successful candidate will bring a minimum of 2 years of swim instruction experience, along with a valid swim instructor qualification, strong communication skills, and reliability. As a Swim Instructor, you will have the opportunity to work in private residences, offering tailored swim lessons that adhere to the Swim for Life curriculum. This role requires flexibility in terms of hours and locations, as well as a commitment to fostering a positive and safe learning environment for students.

Responsibilities:



Conduct safe and effective swim lessons for students ranging from infants to adults, accommodating various skill levels and abilities. Implement the Swim for Life curriculum, ensuring that lessons align with its goals and objectives. Work closely with individuals and families to tailor lessons to meet their specific needs and goals. Utilize effective communication skills to provide clear instructions, guidance, and feedback to students and their parents/guardians. Maintain a high level of professionalism and reliability, consistently arriving on time for scheduled lessons. Adapt to changing locations and environments, potentially moving between different private residences within the Vancouver area. Collaborate with the team to coordinate scheduling, lesson plans, and updates on student progress. Keep accurate records of student achievements, attendance, and any other relevant information. Foster a safe and positive learning environment, prioritizing student comfort and well-being. Encourage water safety practices and educate students on proper swimming techniques. Provide a high level of customer service, addressing any concerns or inquiries from parents/guardians. Continuously improve teaching methods and strategies through ongoing professional development.

Qualifications:



Minimum of 2 years of experience as a swim instructor, with a valid swim instructor qualification and a proven track record of successfully teaching students of various ages and abilities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and team members. Adept at adapting teaching approaches to accommodate individual learning styles and needs. Reliability and punctuality are essential for maintaining a consistent schedule. Demonstrated knowledge of the Swim for Life curriculum or similar swimming education frameworks. Valid CPR and First Aid certifications. Preference for candidates with lifeguard certification. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate students' schedules. Comfortable with travel between different private residences in the Vancouver area. Passion for teaching and promoting water safety.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract, Casual

Pay: $50.00-$70.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 - 20 per week

Work Location: In person
