Position Summary




The Swamper is responsible for assisting the driver with all duties related to loading and unloading the truck, as well as providing the driver with assistance with all other duties related to transporting freight. Work closely with drivers to secure and verify the cargo, ensure proper weight distribution, and conduct pre-trip inspections to confirm equipment readiness. This is a labour intensive role which involves pallet placement near entrance of facility, and transfering product to a dolly and wheeling it into customer location.

What you will do




? Operation of Forklift and Power Pallet Jack.

? Manually load and unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars and lifting devices.


? Accurately ship and receive product.


? Follow all workplace safety policies, and compliance regulations.


? Accurately weigh and document materials.


? Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.


? Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.


? Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.


? Strong attention to detail.

What You'll Bring




6 months up to 1 year of Swamper experience. Less than High School, but basic reading, communication, and arithmetic skills to follow direction. First Aid, WHMIS, and or Forklift Certification preferred. Able to operate Forklift and Power Pallet Jack. Must be able to work in a cold/hot envinronment. Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs.

Along with the following Skills & Competencies:




Superior customer service. Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner. Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs. frequently, and up to 160 lbs., with assistance, regularly. Team Player. Time management skills. Ability to read and write to record pickups and maintain daily records.
