The Faculty of Social Work at the University of Regina invites applications for one Sessional Lecturer to teach the following in person (Regina) course during the Winter 2026 semester:



SW 448 - Social Work Practicum II




Students, with support of agency supervision, will become directly involved in social work services and systems within the community, and experience professional practice. Seminars assist in the integration of theory and practice through sharing of experience and knowledge.



The semester is from January 2, 2026 to April 24, 2026, with no final exam.



Sessional Lecturers that are teaching in person seminars are expected to teach 7 synchronous seminars throughout the semester in person on campus.



Expectations for Sessional Lecturers include, but aren't limited to, the following:Preparing the course outline, designing relevant assignments, evaluating and grading student work, and submitting student grades by the required deadline. Teaching course content that follows the course description, established learning objectives, and university academic guidelines. Delivering 7 seminars throughout the semester. Encouraging and maintaining a safe and collaborative classroom environment. Providing regular support to students on course work during office hours, and as required by students. Consulting with the Associate Dean (Undergraduate Programs) on academic or student- related matters as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

Master of Social Work (

MSW

)

Demonstrated related experience appropriate to the course content description as listed above; Superior communications skills (both written and verbal); Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; Recent teaching experience in a post-secondary environment is considered an asset.
Physical Demands Pay Grade Faculty Sessional Salary Range As per URFA Collective Agreement Status Term Work Hours
The Sessional Lecturer is expected to teach on campus in-person in Regina (synchronous) for each of the 7 seminars, attend remote orientation, be in the classroom 10-15 minutes before each seminar starts, as well as offer regular office hours for their students each week.



Course Details:

This course is offered on Friday's 8:30 a.m. - 11:15 a.m.

Required Remote Orientation: Jan 2 9:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.

Seminar Dates: Jan 16, 30, Feb 13, Mar 6, 20, Apr 10, 24

The semester is from January 2, 2026 to April 24, 2026, with no final exam.
