Position SummaryThe Faculty of Social Work at the University of Regina invites applications for one Sessional Lecturer to teach the following in person (Saskatoon) course during the Winter 2025 semester:SW 405 Social Work with Indigenous Peoples
This course investigates theory and practices for social workers to support Indigenous individuals, families and communities in a variety of settings. The course explores the history of of oppression experienced by Indigenous peoples by government policies. Emphasis is placed on individual self determination, cultural safety, Indigenous self-governance and societal decolonization.The semester class period is from January 6, 2025 to April 11, 2025 with the final exam period running from April 14 to 26, 2025.Sessional Lecturers that are teaching in person classes are expected to teach 13 synchronous classes throughout the semester in person on campus.Expectations for Sessional Lecturers include, but aren\'t limited to, the following:
