Position Summary
The Faculty of Social Work at the University of Regina invites applications for one Sessional Lecturer to teach the following blended delivery (Online asynchronous AND Remote via Zoom) course during the Fall 2025 semester:
SW 347 - Social Work Practice II
This course aims to develop an understanding of the characteristics of organizations, institutions and communities. Students will gain knowledge about macro practice theories and will begin to develop and enhance the social work skills used in various practice settings. Students will think critically about the structural responses to social distress.
The semester class period is from September 2, 2025 to December 5, 2025 with the final exam period running from December 9 to 22, 2025.
Sessional Lecturers that are teaching blended classes are expected to teach 5 remote synchronous classes throughout the semester on Zoom.
Expectations for Sessional Lecturers include, but aren't limited to, the following:

• Preparing the course outline, designing relevant assignments, evaluating and grading student work, and submitting student grades by the required deadline.
• Teaching course content that follows the course description, established learning objectives, and university academic guidelines.
• Delivering 5 lectures throughout the semester.
• Encouraging and maintaining a safe and collaborative classroom environment.
• Providing regular support to students on course work during office hours, and as required by students.
• Consulting with the Associate Dean (Undergraduate Programs) on academic or student- related matters as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Master of Social Work (MSW)
• Demonstrated related experience appropriate to the course content description as listed above;
• Superior communications skills (both written and verbal);
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
• Recent teaching experience in a post-secondary environment is considered an asset.

The Sessional Lecturer is expected to teach blended delivery Remote via Zoom for each of the 5 lectures, be in the zoom 10-15 minutes before each class starts, as well as offer regular office hours for their students each week.
