The Sutsel Ghidelh Assistant supports the Tl'etinqox Wellness Team in delivering prevention-focused programs for all Tl'etinqox members -- women, men, Elders, and youth -- both on- and off-reserve. All activities are grounded in Tsilhqot'in values, language, and the principles of cultural safety, and are guided by Dechen Ts'edilhtan (our laws and values) as recognized in the Tsilhqot'in Nation ?Esqax Sutsel Jeniyax. This position is to work in Tl'etinqox (Hour from Williams Lake, and in Williams Lake).

Key Responsibilities



Assist with the planning, setup, and delivery of Wellness Team events, workshops, and land-based activities.

Provide on-site support during programs, ensuring participants of all ages and abilities feel welcome and included when needed.

Help with transportation, setup, and takedown of equipment, supplies, and materials.

Assist the Wellness Team with shopping for supplies, printing and preparing program materials, and organizing resources.

Assist with creating and distributing posters, and help share program information through social media, the Tl'etinqox website, and other community communication channels.

Support the building of strong relationships with Elders, families, youth, and community leaders to encourage participation.

Maintain a respectful, supportive presence at events, helping participants feel comfortable and valued.

Work alongside the Wellness Team, Family Support, and other Tl'etinqox programs to coordinate services and share resources.

Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and debriefs to provide input and feedback.

Join the Wellness Team at programs when additional support is needed for facilitation, logistics, or participant engagement when needed.

Qualifications & Skills



Experience working in community-based wellness, health, or social programs is an asset.

Knowledge of Tsilhqot'in culture, language, traditions, and Dechen Ts'edilhtan (laws, values, and protocols) is preferred.

Familiarity with delivering or assisting in programs for women, men, Elders, and youth.

Experience in event planning, logistics, or program support is an asset.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Organizational skills for managing multiple tasks, events, and timelines.

Problem-solving skills and adaptability in dynamic program settings.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold cultural protocols.

Reliable, punctual, and able to take initiative when needed.

Open to learning and applying Tsilhqot'in cultural teachings in program delivery.

Willingness to participate in land-based and seasonal activities in a variety of weather conditions.

Working Conditions



Work will be conducted in both the Tl'etinqox Community and Williams Lake.

This position requires working a minimum of 2+ days per week in Tl'etinqox to support in-person programming, meetings, and community engagement.

Some work may be completed from home, depending on program schedules and supervisor approval.

Flexible hours may be required, including evenings and weekends, to support Wellness Team activities and community events.

The role involves working in both indoor and outdoor settings, including participation in land-based programs in a variety of weather conditions.

Travel may be required to off-reserve locations to support outreach and program delivery.

Valid Class 5 driver's license and reliable transportation are an asset.
