In this role, you will:
  • Manage the ongoing transformation of the Sustainment PMO through expansion of capabilities, ensuring that the team strives to deliver fully comprehensive strategic and operational support across the Sustainment Program
  • Manage the alignment / transition of Babcock Canada processes to the Global Project Management Framework (GPMF), in support of Sustainment Program delivery
  • Seek to optimize the approach to Submarine Long-Term (10-Year) and Annual Operating Plan development, delivery, and tracking
  • Be accountable for all schedule / financial performance measurement and reporting
  • Drive forward endorsed continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring that methodologies and toolsets are complementary and fully support the successful provision of PMO services across the Sustainment Program
  • Lead delivery of the Sustainment Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and Integrated Business Plan (IBP) to support execution of the Sustainment Program.
  • Seek to optimize the use of Project / Program Dashboards across the Sustainment Program
  • Seek to optimize the use of approved Sub-Contractors to maintain progress against schedule and financial targets, ensuring that the execution process is as timely and efficient as possible
  • Continue to identify and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure operational and strategic targets are met
  • Be responsible for forecasting VISSC in-year spend and tracking progress against total VISSC ceiling
  • Manage the VISSC Core budget, including tracking actual expenditure against targets and maintaining a view to the end of the current VISSC
  • Manage, mentor and coach the Sustainment PMO Team members, including setting Terms of Reference & Responsibilities (TORRs), assigning objectives, completing performance reviews, establishing training requirements and succession planning
  • Ensuring all Quality and Health & Safety standards are maintained and communicate Health and Safety issues as required
  • Undertaking other duties as deemed necessary and reasonable
The ideal candidate brings:
  • At least ten years of experience in PMO-based roles, including five years in a management capacity
  • The ability to work professionally and objectively managing multiple stakeholders, providing a clear focus and consistency in approach to project tracking and execution
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to set and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • The attributes required to champion a culture of continuous improvement and be output focussed, as you are self-driven and experienced in driving and motivating others to perform to targets
  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with subject matter experts, colleagues, and users
  • The ability to work with precision and accuracy, demonstrating attention-to-detail and possessing excellent record keeping skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in gathering, maintaining, reporting, and analysing schedule data using Primavera tools
  • Full knowledge of Microsoft products
  • Experience within the Marine Industry and particularly with Submarines is preferred (but not required)
  • Eligibility for a Canadian NATO Secret Security Clearance, Canadian Controlled Goods, and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) clearances
