We are looking for an experienced sustainability specialist who will work to educate, support, and guide our clients through their sustainability journey. The Sustainable Tourism Specialist is responsible for working with an assigned group of clients, on various consulting projects, delivering guidance and expertise in the area of sustainability as it relates to tourism businesses and destinations. This work may include assisting clients through a sustainability assessment in the pursuit of Certification or working with them to review their current policies and procedures in an effort to improve their sustainability performance, and in the development of sustainability strategies and action plans. Reporting to the Director of Sustainable Tourism, this role will collaborate with the team on program management tasks while taking initiative to seek opportunities through which to improve the services provided. By fostering strong connections with our clients, the STS will develop trust and in turn long-standing relationships across the industry, helping to support GreenStep in meeting its long-term objectives of changing the world through business. Duties & Responsibilities \xe2\x97\x8f Apply analytical skills and specialist knowledge to deliver technical guidance and reports in support of client projects related to sustainability \xe2\x97\x8f Guide business and destination clients through the GreenStep Certification process, including interpretation of results, reviewing evidence, drafting reports, providing guidance \xe2\x97\x8f Support the team with client communications including but not limited to - responding to emails, scheduling/rescheduling calls, providing resources, and general client relationship management \xe2\x97\x8f Manage and analyze data to inform the creation of a sustainability action plan

\xe2\x97\x8f Draft final reports for client projects, to deliver results and recommendations
\xe2\x97\x8f Act as a consultant, offering guidance and expertise, on the topic of sustainability for tourism

\xe2\x97\x8f Represent GreenStep at industry events, conferences, and tradeshows as needed
\xe2\x97\x8f Other project work, as assigned Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience \xe2\x97\x8f 5+ years of experience in sustainability consulting (or related field), preferably with a balance in all aspects of sustainability (environmental, social, cultural and economic) or related role \xe2\x97\x8f Strong desire to assist others by providing guidance, support, and expertise on a topic that may not be familiar to them \xe2\x97\x8f Strong communication skills, both verbal and written with an ability to explain complex concepts and technical language in a clear and concise manner \xe2\x97\x8f Working independently with limited supervision, while also being able to collaborate with a team \xe2\x97\x8f Critical thinking with an analytical mindset

Sustainable Tourism (GSTC), Professional in Destination Management, Certified
Energy Manager, LEED Green Associate, or other related designation \xe2\x97\x8f Experience as a registered environmental or carbon auditor or certified by
