We are currently looking for a permanent, full-time Sustainability Coordinator to join our Oakville team. Reporting to the President, this position will be responsible in overseeing environmental and sustainability initiatives for the GZ Media North America (GZNA) group. We are looking for a self-starter with great interpersonal skills, that enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.

Candidates must reside in Canada and be legally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Primary function includes managing the implementation of sustainability plans and evaluating program performance.
• Conduct thorough research on the most effective waste reducing practices, policies and procedures
• Propose plans for reducing waste of resources and assess the feasibility of implementation.
• Measure and track the resource and energy use of a business, organization, or industry.
• Working with Procurement department to source sustainable components for production
• Determine available offsets to reduce net zero carbon emissions while managing the company\'s program to achieve net zero carbon emissions
• Thoroughly evaluate the Company\'s environmental impact (GHG emissions, solid waste, etc.)
• Sourcing and/or working with GZNA group companies to source environmentally friendly materials for our manufacturing (record compound, print, packaging, etc.)
• Further develop the zero carbon initiative by managing and improving the Company\'s tree planting program
• Design campaigns to promote sustainability and perform outreach activities to get staff members and outside agencies involved.
• Marketing the Company\'s initiatives to the customer base and music industry in general in cooperation with our existing Marketing department

Requirements/Qualifications

• 2+ years of related experience in a Sustainability role required, preference for experience in Manufacturing
• Degree or Diploma in Environmental Studies or a related field preferred
• Excellent communication skills: verbal and written; must be able to effectively communicate with Senior Leaders
• Computer literate: highly proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Business Suite
• Strong attention to detail
• Keen interest in corporate responsibility and sustainability
• Willingness to learn new technology systems as they are implemented
• Strong self-initiative and work ethic with a drive to achieve sustainable results
• Highly analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to achieve results and work in a fast paced, team-based environment
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with all levels of employees and management
• Demonstrated understanding of product lifecycle, materials, material composition, and other relevant topics
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, graphs and governmental regulations
• A passionate, self-directed, continuous learner, whose curiosity will uncover new opportunities to bring value to our company.
