Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a particular focus on sushi and Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that delight our customers while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and presentation.

Responsibilities

Prepare and assemble sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and creativity. Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and handled according to food safety regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including workstations and equipment. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours. Assist in menu development by contributing innovative ideas for new sushi dishes. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and communicate needs to management. Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests when necessary and ensuring their satisfaction with the meal.

Experience

Previous experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food industry is preferred. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and food handling practices. Familiarity with various types of sushi, ingredients, and traditional Japanese cooking styles is essential. Experience working in a fast-paced restaurant environment is highly desirable. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented atmosphere while maintaining individual responsibilities.
