We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Maker to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a keen understanding of sushi-making techniques. As a Sushi Maker, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards for taste and presentation. This role requires attention to detail, creativity, and a commitment to food safety practices.
Responsibilities
Prepare and assemble sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes according to established recipes and standards.
Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and handled in compliance with food safety regulations.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations and equipment.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service during peak hours.
Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and supplies.
Stay updated on sushi trends and techniques to continuously improve menu offerings.
Provide excellent customer service by ensuring that each dish meets quality expectations.
Experience
Previous experience in the food industry, particularly in food handling and meal preparation, is preferred.
Familiarity with sushi-making techniques and Japanese cuisine is a plus.
Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations relevant to the restaurant environment.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining high standards of quality.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
