We are seeking a talented and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a deep appreciation for Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that delight our customers while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and cleanliness in the kitchen.
Responsibilities
Prepare and present sushi dishes according to traditional Japanese techniques and recipes.
Ensure all ingredients are fresh, high-quality, and properly stored.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and sushi preparation area.
Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines to ensure a safe dining experience.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and service.
Assist in menu development by contributing new ideas for sushi rolls and dishes.
Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs to management.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques.
Skills
Proven experience as a cook or chef in the food service industry, with a focus on sushi or Asian cuisine preferred.
Strong knowledge of food handling, preparation, and safety standards.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Excellent knife skills and attention to detail in presentation.
Creativity in meal preparation with an understanding of flavor combinations.
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
