Overview

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a particular focus on sushi and Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards for taste and presentation. Your expertise in food safety and handling will ensure that all meals are prepared in accordance with health regulations, providing our guests with an exceptional dining experience.

Duties

Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, using fresh ingredients. Ensure all food is prepared according to established recipes and standards for quality. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food storage practices. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service. Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs to management. Adhere to food safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a safe working environment. Assist in menu development by suggesting new sushi items or specials based on seasonal ingredients.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food industry. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods specific to sushi. Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices in food handling. Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred, demonstrating an ability to work in fast-paced environments. Excellent attention to detail with a passion for creating visually appealing dishes. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
