We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Japanese cuisine, particularly in sushi preparation and presentation. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards while ensuring food safety and cleanliness in the kitchen. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Duties
Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, with precision and artistry.
Ensure all ingredients are fresh and of high quality by conducting regular inventory checks and maintaining proper storage practices.
Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards throughout the preparation process.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and timely service during peak hours.
Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area, including workstations, utensils, and equipment.
Assist in menu planning and development by providing input on new sushi offerings based on seasonal ingredients or trends.
Train junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and best practices for food handling.
Experience
5 years experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food industry is preferred.
Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and food safety regulations.
Previous restaurant experience is essential, with familiarity in fast-paced kitchen environments being a plus.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating independence when necessary.
