We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a focus on sushi and Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will play a vital role in delivering an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
Prepare and present high-quality sushi dishes according to traditional recipes and modern techniques.
Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and handled in compliance with food safety regulations.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to create innovative menu items that enhance the dining experience.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, including proper sanitation practices.
Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and supplies.
Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests and accommodating special requests when possible.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food safety standards.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food industry.
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling practices.
Familiarity with various types of sushi, sashimi, and Japanese cuisine is essential.
Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is highly desirable.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
