Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a particular focus on sushi and Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards while ensuring food safety and hygiene practices are followed. Your creativity and attention to detail will play a vital role in enhancing our customers' dining experience.

Duties

Prepare and present sushi dishes with precision and artistry, ensuring high-quality standards are met. Handle food safely and adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area. Assist in menu development by suggesting new sushi recipes or variations. Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs to management. Train kitchen staff on proper sushi preparation techniques as needed. Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests when necessary, ensuring their satisfaction with their meal.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment, preferably in the food industry. Strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and meal preparation techniques. Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations. Previous experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role is highly desirable. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards. Excellent attention to detail and presentation skills. Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team setting. A passion for Japanese cuisine and commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
