Experienced Surveyors
to join our team.
The Surveyor will work closely with Site Superintendents, Project Managers, and field crews to provide accurate layout data, maintain survey controls, and ensure proper implementation of design drawings. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GPS, Total Station, and machine control systems, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced civil construction environment.
Responsibilities include:
Conduct topographic, boundary, and construction layout surveys using Total Station, GPS, and levels.
Perform quantity take-offs, grade checks, and earthwork volume calculations.
Establish, verify, and maintain site control points, benchmarks, and monitoring points.
Prepare and manage survey data, drawings, and digital terrain models using AutoCAD and related software.
Generate and update survey files for machine control systems; perform calibration and verification as required.
Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and models to ensure construction accuracy.
Communicate layout information clearly to site personnel and supervisors.
Troubleshoot survey and machine control issues in the field and ensure data accuracy.
Complete as-built surveys and prepare documentation for project closeout.
Maintain organized records of survey data, daily field notes, and reports.
Ensure survey equipment is maintained, calibrated, and in good working condition.
Support overall project coordination by monitoring progress and reporting discrepancies or design conflicts.
To set yourself up for success in this role, you will have:
A minimum of 3 years of survey experience in civil construction (roadworks, utilities, subdivisions, or site development).
Proficiency with GPS, Total Station, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and machine control systems (Trimble preferred).
Strong understanding of civil drawings, grades, and construction tolerances.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Valid Class 5 driver's license and reliable transportation to and from site.
Willingness to work extended hours and travel to various project sites within the Interior region.
Safety-conscious attitude; possession of valid safety certifications (First Aid, CSTS, Ground Disturbance, etc.) considered an asset.
