About Us



Archibald Drilling & Blasting is a leading provider of drilling and blasting services, dedicated to safety, innovation, and operational excellence for over 40 years. We work on projects ranging from quarry operations, open-pit mining to civil construction and marine work. We are currently seeking a surveyor to join our drill and blast team and play a crucial role in the planning, execution, and assessment of blasting activities.

Position Overview



As a Surveyor at Archibald, you will be responsible for completing, collecting, analyzing, and reporting data related to blast designs and outcomes. Your work will ensure accurate drill and blast planning, enhance efficiency, and help maintain safety and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities



Work directly with customers and the blaster to develop and finalize blast designs

Assist in the development and verification of blast designs and layouts.

Conduct both pre-blast and post-blast surveys using GPS, GNSS and drone equipment.

Generate accurate 3D terrain models and profiles.

Monitor blast performance and support blast optimization initiatives.

Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.

Collaborate with engineers, drill and blast crews, and management teams.

Prepare and maintain survey records, maps, and technical reports.

Preferred Qualifications



Degree or diploma in Surveying, Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related field.

Proven experience in a surveyor role, preferably within a mining or blasting environment.

Proficient with surveying tools (GNSS, GPS, total station, drones).

Experience with survey and blast design software.

Strong understanding of drill and blast techniques and best practices.

Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to work in remote and outdoor environments.

Current certifications in blasting or explosives handling.

UAV (drone) pilot certification.

Working knowledge of safety systems and mine regulations.
