We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting land surveys, preparing detailed reports, and utilizing advanced surveying technology to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of various surveying software and tools, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, architects, and construction teams.
Responsibilities
Conduct land surveys to determine property boundaries, topography, and site conditions.
Utilize surveying equipment and software to collect data accurately.
Prepare detailed schematics and drafting documents using CAD software.
Collaborate with project manager to ensure project specifications and permitting approvals are met.
Provide support during construction phases by verifying measurements and ensuring adherence to design specifications.
Prepare, review, and submit Subdivision Applications to the Land Titles Office (LTO) and City of Edmonton.
Conduct on-site surveys including topographic, boundary, and construction stakeouts. ( Plot Plans, Grading Plans, Landscaping Plans, Site Servicing Plans).
Perform on-site stakeouts for building layouts, lot lines, and servicing infrastructure.
Ensure all work complies with municipal bylaws, codes, and development standards.
Maintain accurate survey records and support site teams with technical survey/drafting needs.
Resolve discrepancies related to lot boundaries, elevations, or construction layouts.
Skills
Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, and SolidWorks.
Experience with surveying tools and technology for accurate data collection.
Strong drafting skills with the ability to create detailed schematics and plans.
Familiarity with 2D animation techniques for visual presentations of survey data is a plus.
Strong knowledge of City of Edmonton subdivision, permitting, and grading processes
Diploma or degree in Geomatics Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Drafting, or related field.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail in data interpretation. .
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent problem-solving, detail orientation, and communication skills.
Valid Alberta Driver's License and ability to visit construction sites.
