The Surveyor will responsible for the consistent, reliable and efficient translation of plans into field layout for operations, planning and engineering. The individual will provide technical information to the operations management team and crews in order for them to be effective in their work.

Complete various field survey requests and measurements as assigned.

Setup and configure survey equipment.

Ensure equipment is maintained and calibrated.

Provide work control lines that are required for accurate measurement and correct installation by field staff.

Maintain and verify provided control network.

Coordinate and undertake planning and implementation of survey requirements to facilitate construction activities.

Assist in the evaluation of potential field problems, quantity calculations and quality control.

Provide cut / fill grids for earthwork operations.

Perform layout work at various stages of construction as specified by the survey manager.

Check as-built conditions that require the use of surveying techniques.

Maintain accurate survey records, documentation and stamped submittals.

Monitor work being completed in the field where surveying techniques are required.

Communicate with operations, engineers and subcontractors to complete surveying tasks.

Manage As Built information and digital records.

Maintain accurate field notes and survey reports.

Required Knowledge and Experience

.

Post-secondary education in Surveying or Geomatics. Knowledge of survey practices and standards. Minimum 5 years' experience in Construction surveying industry. Road Safety Training System (RSTS) considered an asset Familiar with wide range of survey duties including earthwork, structural, utility, and control. Must have a solid understanding of safety requirements on an active construction site and applicable safety policies. Strong computer skills and proficient in the use of office, data, surveying, and engineering-based software. Excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational skills. Knowledge of engineering design and survey methods. GPS and total station experience required. Class 5 drivers' license Physical strength and stamina. Manual dexterity. Repetitive movement. Able to perform in a fast-paced environment. Continuously changing work tasks. A safety-conscious attitude. The ability to work with others in a team. Ability to use stairs, ladders, and climb over rough terrain. Ability to work long hours per day sometimes in rough weather conditions. Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments. Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg. Ability to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, contractors and the general public in a courteous, professional manner at all times. Willing to work overtime, as required.

Must comply with the company's drug & alcohol program, including testing requirement.

Pay: $32.04-$37.82 per hour

Expected hours: 50 - 65 per week
