Description
You are an experienced survey drafter lead with a strong background supporting field crews in infrastructure environments. This is an opportunity to contribute to projects where precision and safety are paramount. You'll be working alongside experienced crews, translating field data into accurate, high-quality drawings that support construction, engineering, and land development initiatives. Essential Responsibilities:
Produce drawings and coordinate files for the field work
Create field-level designs
Verify incoming job files from the field match design (QA/QC)
Maintain compiled drawings
Produce as-built and turnover drawings
Prepare survey deliverables for the client
Create stakeout files from design drawings
Create machine files
Produce piling reports
Process drone data (LiDAR, photogrammetry)
Work with point clouds and large surfaces
Analyze volumes and create reports
Track quantities and report weekly quantities
Mentor/guide other drafter(s) on team
Qualifications:
Preferential to have completed 2-year diploma in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field
Strong technical background in AutoCAD Civil 3D and ability to produce drawings
Proficient with Trimble Access and Trimble Business center
Experience with civil construction design builds on the fly
Motivated, self-starter who can work well independently or within a team environment
Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies
Familiarity with City of Edmonton infrastructure standards is a plus
Advanced RPAS Certification and ability to fly a drone is an asset
Drafters with previous survey field experience will be preferred
Work Conditions:
Site based within the City of Edmonton
Must be willing to travel to office (Ellerslie / 126th St)
