About Island Gold District: Alamos Golds Island Gold District will become one of the largest and lowest-cost gold mines in Canada. With the two mines within the district, Island Gold and Magino employ over 900 team members who work in the underground and open pit operations and are located in northern Ontario, just east of the town of Dubreuilville, 83 kilometres northeast of Wawa. Primary Responsibilities:
xc2xb7 Washing mobile equipment (Both Heavy and Light) and components as required
xc2xb7 Maintaining the Surface Wash Bay Cleanliness to promote a safe and efficient work area
xc2xb7 Performing routine and daily inspections of applicable equipment and work area
xc2xb7 Completing work orders as assigned and tracking completion of tasks
xc2xb7 Assisting Mechanical Clerks with Administrative duties when needed.
xc2xb7 Replenish shop inventory (parts oil, etc...).
xc2xb7 Empty all waste and recycling bins from shops and put them in proper disposal area (on surface)
xc2xb7 Assist the mechanic as required and perform other duties as assigned.
xc2xb7 Create work orders (with minor supervision).
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:
xc2xb7 Motivated and able to work in a challenging environment with minimal supervision
xc2xb7 Previous shop or yard experience considered an asset
xc2xb7 Effective oral and written communication skills
xc2xb7 Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
xc2xb7 Ability to work independently and in a team environment
xc2xb7 Physically fit with the ability/capability of lifting 50 pounds
xc2xb7 Experience in a cross-cultural work environment is considered an asset
xc2xb7 Surface common core is preferable
xc2xb7 Valid Drivers License - G Class
xc2xb7 Completion of secondary school is usually required.
Working Conditions:
This position may require working in a workshop area, wash bay area (Wet/Dirty), as well as an office setting. This position also may include working both inside and outside in all weather conditions.
Physical requirements:
This position may require standing or working for extended periods of time as well as some heavy lift of up to 50 pounds.
