The Supported Employment & Education (SEE) Worker provides clinic- and community-based assessment and treatment for young people aged 14-35 who are experiencing a primary psychotic disorder, often their first episode of psychosis. The SEE Worker is a member of a multidisciplinary Early Psychosis Intervention (EPI) service team, focusing on the client's mental health concerns and goals related to employment and education.
This role involves liaising with other services across CMHA HKPR and with external community agencies to build partnerships that support job development and rapid job placement. The SEE Worker may also participate in system-level advocacy related to employment services. In addition, the role includes supporting clients with educational planning, school or other learning opportunities, and promoting academic engagement and success.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of early intervention in psychosis, along with knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation, crisis intervention, and substance use issues. They will be familiar with recovery principles and group dynamics and have experience working with individuals living with severe and persistent mental illness, particularly schizophrenia spectrum disorders and affective psychosis. The candidate will demonstrate the ability to engage clients and their support networks in collaborative care planning and treatment decision-making. Additionally, they will contribute to a healthy workplace that values diversity, encourages collaboration, and complies with all applicable regulatory requirements.
Flexibility in work hours is required, including the possibility of evening and weekend shifts
