We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals, particularly seniors and those with disabilities. This position requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personalized care and assistance.
Responsibilities
Assist clients with daily living activities, including meal preparation and personal hygiene.
Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring adherence to care plans.
Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
Maintain a clean and safe living space for clients, adhering to health and safety standards.
Support clients with mobility and transportation needs, including accompanying them to appointments.
Assist in the management of dementia care, employing appropriate techniques to engage and support clients.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs.
Document client progress and any changes in condition accurately.
Requirements:
Previous experience in caregiving or support roles, particularly in nursing homes or assisted living facilities is preferred.
Knowledge of working with persons with disabilities and senior care practices is highly desirable.
Familiarity with meal preparation techniques and medication administration protocols.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with clients.
A clean background check is required for this position.
Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various home care settings.
Qualifications:
Minimum requirement of a secondary school diploma
Preference will be given to applicants with a college diploma in a human services related field (Human Services Worker Diploma, Social Services Diploma, Community Services Worker Diploma, Child and Youth Worker Diploma, Behavioural Science Technology, University Degree)
Valid Driver's License, automobile insurance, and access to a personal vehicle is mandatory
Experience in developmental services preferred
2 Covid-19 vaccinations, boosters are encouraged
