Hours: 15 hours per week

Location: Yorkton, SK

Start Date: As soon as possible

SIGN Independent Living Program seeks an independent, resourceful and empathetic individual to support and improve clients' quality of life. The successful individual will collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary team to ensure quality client care and implement daily living supports, while maintaining the health, rights and dignity of individuals.

Have a good working knowledge and understanding of mental illness; Provide scheduled home visits and help to establish daily routines with clients; Teach and reinforce basic living skills; Facilitate client's access to community resources; Be pleasant with a wide range of people of different ages and cultures; Maintain positive professional boundaries without imposing personal expectations; Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing; Work individually as well as part of a team; Work under pressure and handle tense and stressful situations; Demonstrate time management and case management skills; Flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment; High level of integrity and work ethic; Strong sense of ethics and confidentiality.

Qualifications and experience:

A post-secondary education in a human service related field or an equivalent combination of work experience and education Certifications or licenses appropriate to the position Valid First Aid and CPR Valid Saskatchewan Driver's License
One to two years experience working with clients dealing with long term mental illness preferred

A current and clean RCMP criminal record and vulnerable sector check.
