Position: Support Worker

Location: Springwater Residential Centre

Salary: $20.50 per hour + $3 per hour enhancement pay

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent, Nights awake

As a Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:



Provide Support: Assist individuals in achieving their goals, developing life skills, and participating in social and recreational activities.

Ensure Health and Safety: Maximize the health, safety, and well-being of the individuals you support, including administering medications and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Community Engagement: Plan, transport, and accompany individuals on community outings, ensuring they have the opportunity to engage with their community.

Emotional Support: Offer emotional guidance and support to individuals, promoting their dignity and self-respect.

Meal Preparation: Help with meal planning, grocery shopping, and food preparation to ensure healthy, balanced meals.

Crisis Management: Respond effectively to emergency situations and assist with behavioural and crisis protocols as needed.

Documentation: Ensure accurate and timely completion of required documentation, including health records and progress tracking.

Collaboration: Work closely with an interdisciplinary team to support individuals in achieving their personal outcomes and living their best life.

Who You Are:



You're someone who is caring, empathetic, and dedicated to improving the lives of others. You also:

Hold a Human Services Diploma (e.g. Social Service Worker, Developmental Services Worker, Child and Youth Worker) with 1+ year of experience OR have 3 years of related experience in supporting individuals with special needs.

Have current First Aid and CPR certification.

Are familiar with crisis intervention and safe management techniques (asset).

Can build strong relationships and work collaboratively as part of a team.

Are organized, flexible, and able to work independently as needed.

Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook, and are comfortable using technology for documentation.

Have the ability to manage crisis situations calmly and effectively.

Are entitled to work in Canada.

Schedule:

12-hour shifts, two-week rotation from 9pm - 9am Week one: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday Week two: Wednesday, Thursday Day shift Holidays Overtime as required Weekend availability
Supplemental pay types:

Bonus pay - attendance bonus Overtime pay
