Job Description

We are currently looking for individuals to implement the behavioural support plan (BSP), skill development protocols and crisis intervention procedures with a young man with Autism who also may exhibit aggression or self-injurious behaviour.

In this role, you will work within a team that includes support and training from Senior Behaviour Therapist and a Registered Behaviour Analyst. (RBA).

We're looking for casual team members to fill 24 - 32 hours per week.

Shifts are 7:00 am - 3:00 pm (day) or 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm (evenings).

Major Areas of Responsibility:



Support the client by implementing components of the individualized behaviour support plan (BSP) to reduce challenging self-injurious behaviour, and replace with functional life skills. Have the ability to record daily data in accordance with the BSP, under the support of the behaviour team. Provide direct support and care to the individual to carry out his day-to-day tasks both at home and in the community such as, health and personal care, dietary care, meal preparation, house cleaning, recreational and leisure activities. Work collaboratively with team members to provide cohesive, fluid support. Participate fully in staff training opportunities and ensure to implement components outlined by the BSP and protocols developed by the RBA Participate fully in regular team meetings. Uphold, support and contribute to the mission of developing safety, trust and rapport with this young man.

Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:



A college diploma or university degree in behaviour sciences, applied behaviour analysis, or developmental service worker, or equivalent, those working towards their degree or diploma will also be considered. (preferred) Would be willing to complete the registered behaviour technician (RBT) course Experience working with adolescents and adults with developmental disabilities and autism (ASD) Experience supporting someone who engages in challenging behaviour (required) Works well as part of a team Strong communication skills Openness to learn from others, including the client you're supporting An ability to remain calm and optimistic in times of pressure
Job Types: Full-time, Casual

Pay: $23.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 - 32 per week

Schedule:

Monday to Friday Weekends as needed
Experience:
