Key Responsibilities
Provide consistent, supportive care in alignment with the client's daily schedule and care plan.
Engage the client in activities such as sensory play, puzzles, crafts, music, and outdoor play.
Encourage and assist with
activities of daily living (ADLs)
including personal hygiene, handwashing, dressing, folding laundry, doing dishes, sweeping, and tidying.
Support school readiness by practicing transitions, social play, and following simple routines.
Use positive behavior redirection strategies when needed.
Monitor and record daily notes.
Ensure the client's comfort, safety, and well-being at all times.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience working with children with autism or developmental disabilities (required).
Background in childcare, social services, developmental services, or personal support work an asset. (Personal Support Worker, DSW, Child and Youth Worker, Social Service Worker, OTA)
Ability to remain calm, patient, and compassionate when managing challenging behaviors.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Reliable, punctual, and professional.
Able to follow a structured routine and detailed care instruction
