Who We Are

At the Chrysta ABA Academy, we provide unique opportunities for students on the autism spectrum or other special needs, to reach their highest potential by applying behavior analysis to learning. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) focuses on creating an enriched learning environment that motivates students. In practice, this means that we make learning fun!

At the academy, our day begins at 9:00 am and ends at 2:30 pm. The academy operates year round. We have a two-week break in spring and winter. In summer we close for 2 weeks early July and 3 weeks at the end of August/beginning September.

The Learning Centre typically operates from 2:45 - 5:15. The hours are based on student needs. It mostly stays open longer than the academy during the breaks.

What We're Looking For

We are hiring Education Interventionists to support students at the Chrysta ABA Academy. If you are passionate about working with children and looking for creative ways to make learning fun, we'd love to meet with you.

We are looking for individuals who are pursuing, or interested in pursuing, a career in behavioural consulting, ABA therapy, special education or a related field. ABA training and experience is a preference. Individuals with a background in psychology, education, special education or classroom and community support are encouraged to apply. Most importantly, our ideal candidate will have positive energy and strong play and engagement skills. A minimum of grade 12 or GED is required.

As our students benefit from consistent, ongoing relationships, we seek candidates who are able to commit to a one year contract. We also require candidates to provide positive references and a clear criminal record check (CRC - vulnerable sector). The CRC will be paid for by Chrysta.

The Position

The principles of ABA are our guiding force! As an Education Interventionist your responsibilities will include:

Y Supporting students with special needs:

Y Implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)

Y Teaching all of the skills in our program areas

Y Contriving environments to motivate and reinforce target behaviors

Y Collecting, monitoring and recording data

Y Recording Daily Activities

What we Offer

We provide regular and ongoing training on implementing ABA strategies and techniques that build our students' skills and learning and make a positive difference in their lives. You will learn best practices in the field of ABA under the guidance of our Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA). In addition, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of like-minded staff who are passionate about making a difference every day.
