Support Services Worker

Report to

: The Support Services Worker will be an employee of South London Neighbourhood Resource Centre (SLNRC). Day-to-Day supervision/consultation will be provided by the Manager of Support Services. Supervision will be provided in the form of formal supervision meetings as well as informal support as requested by the Supervisor.

Qualifications

: Social Service Worker Diploma, related fields of expertise or experience of over 3 years actively supporting low-income residents.

Hours

: Position is a part-time position and will run from Monday to Friday. Some evenings when required.

Hours per Week

22.5 hrs/ week until March 31, 2027

Wages:

$24.48 per hour

Position overview

: The Support Services Worker will support the successful delivery of the CORE services "Neighbourhood Support Services" in relation to Basic Needs, Meal Programs, Community Advocacy & Information and Referral. In addition, to lead volunteer experiences for local residents including those living in poverty.

q Support the management of Support Services (Food Bank, seasonal programs, London Good Food Box, food supplies/distribution and mobile food bank)

q Support the management of Meal Programs

o Leadership, strong organizational, and time management skills

o Excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communication skills

o Capacity to build relationships with community members, and professionals

o Proven ability to work with diverse and ethnic/cultural backgrounds

o Motivated, self-starter and able to work in a fast-paced environment

o Capacity to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team

o Proficiency with Microsoft office, email, and some knowledge of database entry

o Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

o Clearance through a Vulnerable populations police screening process

o Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

o Responsible, trustworthy, approachable and friendly

o Ability to work with a diverse population

o Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in an active environment

o Valid drivers license and vehicle

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $24.48 per hour

Expected hours: 22.5 per week
