Position Summary

Reporting to the Chair, School of Legal, Public & Office Administration, this part-time, on-campus position supports School activities in the areas of event planning and preparation, internal and external communication, social media correspondence, and, in conjunction with the student advisor and program coordinators, student success initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support for School events, workshops, and related activities.
  • In conjunction with the student advisor and program coordinators, the incumbent supports student success activities by coordinating administrative details of specific projects including preparation of plans and timelines of department specific initiatives.
  • Designs and creates social media postings in accordance with requirements.
  • Researches and prepares presentations and reports to support School and department plans and objectives.
  • Responds to needs of service users by coordinating administrative details of specific projects, including preparing operational plans and schedules.
  • Compiles and analyzes data in order to provide recommendations.
  • Takes on responsibilities, whether working independently or as part of a team, to contribute to the school\xe2\x80\x99s smooth and efficient operation, in addition to carrying out other assigned duties.
Qualifications

Education
  • Minimum completed one (1) year diploma in Office Administration or a related field.
Experience
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience working in an administrative role.
Skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Skilled in managing tasks, time, and resources adeptly to attain objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrates the capability to convey information clearly and effectively through diverse channels, encompassing both written and verbal communication.
  • Proficient with computer software, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access), collaborative and web-conferencing platforms (Teams, Zoom), desktop publishing software, internet software, and social media platforms.
  • Adaptable in swiftly adjusting to shifting circumstances, tasks, and priorities, ensuring seamless workflow.
  • Solid team player.
