DESCRIPTION:

The Support Services Float provides flexible coverage across Cook/Baker, Food Service, and housekeeping, laundry roles, based on departmental needs. This position requires adaptability, a broad skill set, and the ability to successfully perform all duties associated with each role. Regular assignments will rotate between cooking and baking, food service, and housekeeping, depending on operational needs.

REQUIREMENTS:

Experience in culinary occupations, with prior experience as cook/baker

Ability to fulfill the position. The candidate MUST be willing and able to work a combination of shifts, as Housekeeper, Food Service, Laundry and Cook/Baker, and continue to do so as an ongoing requirement of the role. Should the candidate be deemed to be unsuccessful in any of these individual roles, they will no longer be considered eligible for the Support Services Float position.

Maintain good personal physical and mental health, including physical activity, to ensure willingness and capability to meet physical demands of the position.

Good attendance record

Able to work flexible hours/shifts

Food handler's course

Food preparation/cooking & experience

Ability to work in a team environment

Adhere to roles and responsibilities as outlined in the Job Position for each role.

Protect own health and health of others by adopting safe work practices, reporting unsafe conditions immediately, and attending all relevant in-services regarding occupational health and safety. Follows all guidelines for employees and employers as legislated under the Nova Scotia Occupational Health and Safety Act

Must Have:

Clear Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Background Check

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

Reliable transportation

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.47-$24.55 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 32 per week
