The Opportunity
This is a truly exciting time to be at TVO!
This position is accountable for building relationships and sharing TVO's wide array of quality digital products with the K-12 educational community, organizations and other stakeholders.
With a passion for education and customer service, this role ensures TVO's digital learning resources/products including TVO Learn, TVO mPower, TVO Mathify, and TVO ILC are promoted and shared as teaching and learning tools inside and outside the classroom. The role is focused on supporting the delivery of data-driven, creative and engaging outreach to educators, parents, students and organizations across Ontario.
The ideal candidate is familiar with the Ontario educational landscape, can share their knowledge of the trends and opportunities within and outside the education system, and contributes to TVO's reputation as a leader in the field of digital learning. The ideal candidate must have an awareness of current strategies and tools being used in the classroom. They would also have experience in designing and creating resources to support outreach efforts and familiarity with applying to and preparing for conferences.
How you will make an impact:
Mathify Support:
Responsible for the efficient and effective performance of the TVO Mathify tutoring team
Provide logistical support for TVO Mathify tutors in all aspects of their role including onboarding new tutors, scheduling shifts
Maintain database of information about tutors, skill sets, availability, contact information, etc.
Key contact for all Mathify stakeholders such as students, parents, and educators
Create and distribute weekly tutor communications
Participate in the onboarding of new tutors
Report tutor and student issues with recommended action if there's a performance or policy problem
Review daily Mathify reports and identify customer service and student behaviour issues, communicating any issues as appropriate with management
Outreach/Conferences/Event Support:
Drive the registration and usage of all TVO K-12 Digital Learning products and services by enthusiastically engaging contacts in the educational and broader sector
Register for virtual and in-person education-based conferences taking place in Ontario
Research upcoming conferences and potential award show opportunities
Create business case and proposals that include: session description, rationale, expenses (related to vendor, registrations, staff attending, travel, etc.)
For conferences communicate with various departments to coordinate invoicing, physical set-up of booths and accommodations
Connect with external conference organizers to coordinate logistics
Prepare itineraries for the TVO Outreach Team attending conferences
Connect with educators, parent organizations and/or community organizers to host Outreach sessions
Organize logistics around outreach sessions including platform, audience, TVO resource, etc.
Prepare follow-up emails after sessions to include one-pagers, slide decks and additional information as needed
Occasionally provide substitute coverage in the event of illness or vacation leave at events
Collateral/Promotional Materials
Create and update slides in Master PowerPoint decks for outreach presentations
Ensure the Teams folders are up to date with one-pagers and TVO logos
Create/update TVO Digital Learning Products one-pager
Request quotes and present bids for approvals
Create and send newsletters and communication materials promoting Digital Learning products
Request quotes from vendors for materials and work with procurement when necessary
TVO Ambassadors
Set up training for TVO Ambassadors
Prepare a slide deck for TVO Ambassadors to use in their outreach presentations
Reporting
Create and distribute various reports for products and services to internal and external leadership groups
Track Mathify and Outreach usage statistics and data trends
Create/Coordinate surveys for feedback
Calendar Management
Manage outreach calendar with approved events
Manage Mathify tutor scheduling and availability
Account Management
Manage accounts/files related to Mathify/Outreach
Ensure the Teams channels are up to date with shared files and folders (i.e., key documents, email templates, reporting templates,etc.)
What you will bring to TVO
Post Secondary degree
Bachelor of Education or Early Childhood Education Diploma considered an asset
A member of Ontario College of Teachers in good standing an asset
Excellent organizational and project management skills with experience managing the logistics of multiple projects with competing priorities
Proven customer service experience
Experience with graphic design is an asset
A multi-tasker with experience in prioritizing work and managing time efficiently
Excellent communication skills with experience and a comfort level representing the organization at outreach events
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships internally and externally
Able to work effectively and collaboratively within a team and independently
Must be available for the occasional evening or weekend work (valid Ontario Driver's license with access to a vehicle is an asset)
Sound judgement, analytical and problem solving skills with a consultative and collaborative approach to addressing issues
Professional and supportive approach to decision making and communication
Strong knowledge of digital communication coupled with advanced computer skills in collaborative online tools, as well as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly with a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
Strong knowledge of data and metrics
Proven ability to work effectively with a wide range of people within, across and beyond the organization
