Oshki-Giizhig Inc. is an Indigenous-based non-profit organization. Our vision is a healthy community built on Indigenous journeys towards wellness. Strengthened by cultural practices and traditional teachings, support will assist in restoring balance to individuals and the community affected by trauma and violence. Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in social work, social justice, Indigenous studies, health related and/or a combination of pertinent experiences in these areas. Experiences with cultural activities and understanding of indigenous concepts of care and support. Experience leading a team in a dynamic fast-paced environment. Knowledge of disabilities, disorders and mental health issues. Experience in crisis intervention.
Driver's License and access to transportation.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate daily activities grounded in the Medicine Wheel, including traditional teachings, ceremonies, crafts, and land-based learning.
Provide support in life skills such as budgeting, reading, emotional regulation, and healthy relationships.
Assist with meal planning, cooking, physical wellness and mental health activities.
Prepare and organize materials and supplies for day programming.
Work closely with the Cultural and Day Services Manager to ensure programming meets participant needs.
Maintain communication with the Walking Stick/Housing programs to coordinate and support participant needs.
Perform other duties as assigned, to support program success.

: NVCI, First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, Knowledge of Vulnerable Persons Act, FASD Training
