FULL-TIME SUPPORT CLEANER POSITION (Indefinite Term)

The Bethania Group is currently recruiting for a

Full-Time (1.0 EFT - 75 hrs bi/wkly) Support Cleaner

for 601 Osbourne Street. 601 Osbourne Street is a seniors community, managed by The Bethania Group on behalf of Manitoba Housing and Family Services.

This position plays a critical role in addressing and resolving sanitation issues, including bed bugs, and cockroach infestations in various suites and living spaces throughout the building. Your primary responsibility is to ensure the safety and comfort of our tenants by delivering exceptional cleaning services while maintaining their dignity and privacy. In addition, you will play a key role in providing support and education to ensure proper suite preparation for successful pest control treatment(s).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Conduct thorough and systematic cleaning of suites, rooms, and living spaces with sanitation issues, ensuring that all surfaces, furniture, and cupboards are cleaned effectively. Utilize appropriate cleaning methods, techniques, and specialized equipment to identify, eliminate, and prevent bed bug and cockroach infestations in designated areas while adhering to safety guidelines and procedures. Collaborate closely with building management and other team members to assess the severity of sanitation issues and develop effective remediation plans to restore a clean and healthy living environment. Maintain accurate records of all cleaning and remediation activities, including documenting cleaning products and equipment use, to ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines. Educate tenants on proper hygiene practices and provide recommendations to prevent future sanitation and pest-related issues, promoting a clean and safe living environment. Remove bed bugs and cockroach debris, including eggs, and dead bugs from affected areas using specialized cleaning equipment and techniques. Provide all the necessary support to complete the disinfection of infested spaces to ensure the elimination of all traces of bed bugs and their eggs, as well as cockroaches. Explain and educate the tenants with the proper preparation procedures to ensure compliance and provide all necessary support. Educate Clients on Bed Bug prevention strategies and provide recommendations to maintain a pest-free environment. Ensure proper preparation of the tenants' suites before the chemical pest control treatment. Provide excellent customer service by addressing all the tenants' concerns regarding sanitation, pest control preparation, etc.

Physical Requirements include:

Possess the ability to lift and move heavy cleaning equipment. Stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods. Willingness to work in various environments, including suites, common areas, and outdoor spaces. Possess the ability to follow all safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.

Education/Experience requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent. Specific training related to preventative measures as well as techniques to eradicate bed bug and cockroach infestations Minimum 3 years' work experience in Housekeeping is required Minimum 2 years' experience working with pest control protocol, specifically cleaning techniques, eradication, and preventative measures
Successful candidates are required to provide a current (within the last year) Criminal Record Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check.
