Overview

We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for an experienced Support Assistant to join our OHS Practice and Engineering Support department to provide administrative and clerical assistance.

If you\xe2\x80\x99re a self-starter with good administrative and customer service skills, and a team player with an eye for detail, we want to hear from you. We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for someone with excellent office administration and organization skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and timeliness. In this role, you\xe2\x80\x99ll support the OHS Practice and Engineering Support department with a variety of administrative duties while working collaboratively with the team.

At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.

In this role, you\xe2\x80\x99ll work primarily from your B.C. home and one day a week in our Richmond office.

What you\'ll do

  • Provide administrative support to the department
  • Assist officers with inspection order reviews and penalty matters by gathering materials and information, reviewing files for completion, identifying discrepancies, and communicating with appropriate parties to complete files
  • Prepare and organize various correspondence, reports, written submissions, presentations, and documents of a legal nature that often include technical industry terminology
  • Access and maintain databases and procedure manuals
  • Undertake word processing and document editing

  • Plan, coordinate, prioritize, and organize a diverse, high-volume workload to effectively multi-task and meet deadlines and changing demands while maintaining accuracy and timeliness
  • Use initiative to assist, orient, monitor, and act as a resource to individuals in a team environment
  • Reference and apply policies, procedures, and guidelines in making decisions and solving problems
  • Understand and respond to stakeholders\xe2\x80\x99 needs in order to provide exemplary customer service
  • Clearly communicate and document detailed information, both orally and in writing, to a variety of audiences
Your background and experience
  • A minimum of grade 12 education
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • A minimum of two years of administrative support experience in an office environment
