About the Opportunity

The Supply Technician has an important role within the health care team to provide indirect and direct support for patients. Under the direction of the Business Manager and Team Lead Stores with minimal supervision, the supply technician is responsible for the requisitioning, maintenance and control of medical/surgical supplies, equipment and instruments and for related functions which contribute to the care of Ambulatory Care patients. The supply technician orders, receives, stocks, and inventories supplies and equipment for a number of ambulatory clinics and other areas as required using online systems. The Supply Technician monitors, tracks and records stock levels, and maintains minimum inventory taking into account budgetary constraints and scheduling considerations and by frequently liaising with the Business Manager, Ambulatory Care Managers, and the central warehouse on Dorey. They provide materials reports, monthly financial sheets, and other ad hoc reports.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Grade XII plus 1 year related experience in an Emergency Department setting
  • Familiarity with Excel required; Familiarity with Materials Management/SAP systems preferred
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology
  • Experience with Emergency Department inventory control and 5S Principles preferred
  • Knowledge and training in aseptic technique and Infection Control policies preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must have the ability to work in an environment of constant change
  • Willing and able to work on special projects when requested
  • Requires regular long periods of walking, lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, pushing carts.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Compensation and Incentives

$20.25 - $22.50 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
