Job Description

Phoenix Private Academy is a small private school for Grades K to 8. Our team of professionals are dedicated to helping our exceptional learners reach their full academic, physical, social and emotional potential. A supply educational assistant is a valued member of this team who plays a key role in providing a positive school experience for our special learners. Under the direction of the Principal and/or classroom teacher, our supply educational assistants provide one to one academic programming, run behavioral management programs designed by Senior Therapists and Clinical Supervisors, implement special programs, and provide supervision during lunch and recess time. A supply educational assistant is scheduled due to absences or planned vacations.

Can respond to a student's physical, emotional and/or hygienic needs

Can modify and support learning inside and outside of classroom (i.e. during field trips, DPA, swimming)

Can collect and record data on student progress

Can maintain student confidentiality

Professional Requirements;

A college diploma or university degree (in related field)

Valid First Aid and CPR Level C Certificate

Completed Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or CPI Training

Up-to-date Vulnerable Sector Police Screening

Knowledge of Applied Behavioural Analysis principles is an asset

Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder/ special needs is an asset

. Comfortable and willing to attend and go in the pool during weekly swimming with our students.

Knowledge of the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum is an asset

Computer literacy.

Salary: Competitive salary starting at $21.00 per hour
