KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Curriculum Implementation
Using the Childventures curriculum, plan and facilitate engaging activities that promote cognitive, physical, social and emotional development
Customize activities based on your observations of the children's interest and needs
Participate in required curriculum training sessions and PD days building your knowledge of pedagogical practices
Child Development
Observe and assess children's behaviour, progress and development
Complete daily observations and maintain children's records
Maintain an open and ongoing dialogue with families about their children's progression
Classroom Management
Provide a physically safe and emotionally supportive environment that is inclusive of all children
Establish a consistent set of rules and routines that are followed daily
Ensure a clear and organized classroom monitoring and addressing any health & safety concerns
Communication
Build strong relationships with the children and their families
Establish open lines of communication with your Centre Director and fellow team members
Participate in team meetings fostering a collaborative, respectful and fun work environment
Administrative
Interact with Ministry staff and other regulators around licensing requirements for inspection purposes
Participate in the age-appropriate environment ratings scale annually
Follows the Centre's Quality Assurance cycle when using program evaluation tools
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in an Early Childhood Educator position is an asset
Early Childhood education including:
+ RECE Registered Early Childhood Educator
+ ECE Early Childhood Educator
+ CYW Child Youth Worker
+ CYC Child and Youth Care
+ ECA Early Childhood Assistant
+ EA Educational Assistant
