Job Purpose: Reporting to the Manager, Supply Chain, this will be a contract role that is a possibility turn into permanent role, provides project purchasing with external vendors and internal customers to enable successful project outcomes. The Supply Chain Specialist obtains requirements by verifying, preparing, and forwarding purchase orders and is ultimately responsible for the timely placement of purchase orders, delivery of materials to meet customer order requirements, and verification of receipt of items. Also responsible for adhering to purchasing policies and procedures. Specific Responsibilities: \xc2\xb7 Assist and facilitate Project managers, Sales, Engineering, Drafting, Production & accounting with all and any issues as required \xc2\xb7 Read drawings and understand relationship to ASME Code. \xc2\xb7 Double check all drawings against issuance of BOM. \xc2\xb7 Confirm details with ASME code as required for Purchase with drawing s and Engineering where required \xc2\xb7 RFQ BOM details \xc2\xb7 Purchase BOM items based on Conformance to ASME, Price & lead time \xc2\xb7 Develop and qualify new suppliers in coordination with Supplier Quality Management system \xc2\xb7 Maintain, diversify, and improve relationship with current supply chain. \xc2\xb7 Maintain and develop supply chain buying lists where pricing agreements are in place \xc2\xb7 Verifies RFQs by comparing items requested to BoM and drawing as well as estimate; clarifying unclear items; recommending alternatives \xc2\xb7 Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price against an estimate to maximize savings and adhering to master schedule \xc2\xb7 Obtains purchased items by forwarding orders to suppliers; monitoring and expediting orders to master Schedule \xc2\xb7 Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered \xc2\xb7 Resolves shipments in error with suppliers \xc2\xb7 Adhere to purchasing and organizational policies and procedures \xc2\xb7 Keeps information accessible by utilizing attachments in ERP \xc2\xb7 Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and cross training \xc2\xb7 Accomplishes purchasing and organization mission by completing related results as needed Reporting Relationships / Accountabilities: \xc2\xb7 This role reports directly to Manager, Supply Chain \xc2\xb7 This position will interact with all departments - particularly operations, engineering, sales & finance. Qualifications & Skills: \xc2\xb7 University degree or technical diploma in complimentary field \xc2\xb7 PMAC or APICS designation considered an asset \xc2\xb7 3-5 years of procurement experience within large scale, heavy industry and custom manufacturing; pressure vessel and/or structural manufacturing considered an asset \xc2\xb7 Experience with commodity & category items \xc2\xb7 Possess effective communication (verbal and written) with strong customer service skills \xc2\xb7 Demonstrated understanding of extended supply chain \xc2\xb7 Interpret and apply department policies and procedures \xc2\xb7 Ability to work effectively with all levels in the organization \xc2\xb7 Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); and other applicable applications \xc2\xb7 Solid technical skills with ERP, database; Experience with Microsoft Dynamics specifically considered an asset \xc2\xb7 Communicate with co-workers to provide and receive direction Physical Demands/Work Environment:: \xc2\xb7 Standard office environment \xc2\xb7 Regular periods of sitting, standing, and walking \xc2\xb7 Flexible work environment with hybrid options; 3-5 days per week in office \xc2\xb7 Mental stress due to executing multiple time-sensitive projects Travel Requirements: \xc2\xb7 Periodic travel to suppliers Qualified candidates are asked to forward their detailed resume and salary expectations in confidence to: Human Resources c/o: human.resources@exchangerindustries.com Job Type: Full-time Benefits:
