Quantum has partnered with a great client in the Health Care Services sector to hire a Supply Chain Manager to work based out of our client's work site located in Midland, Ontario. The Manager, Supply Chain will support our client's Stores, Logistics and Purchasing team at the work site. This position would require the individual to be onsite five days per week.
Reporting to the Vice President, Work-Site Logistics, the Manager, Supply Chain will be responsible for providing strategic management and direct supervision of internal work site supply chain functions, including Stores, Logistics and Purchasing. This individual collaborates with our client's internal team and work site leaders, ensuring strategic goals and objectives are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic management of all supply chain functions related to the site (Stores, Logistics, Shipping/Receiving, Warehousing, Distribution, and Purchasing)
- Full oversight of Just-In-Time (Stockless) supply chain and work site relationship with the 3PL provider.
- Ensure all supply chain strategies and operations are aligned with our client's and their client's values.
- Build a strong relationship with work-site stakeholders to ensure alignment with the work-site initiatives.
- Ensure all customer service levels and KPI's are maintained at a high level and that information is presented at monthly/quarterly reviews.
- Manage the escalation and follow up on critical backorders, recalls and other disruptions
- Ensure the annual Par-Review of JIT department supply carts is completed.
- Ensure inventory systems are kept up to date and a high level of accuracy is achieved.
- Oversee cycle counting and year-end inventory process
- Ensure alignment of pandemic supply strategy with company and their client's
- Acts as a primary logistics contact and problem solver for emergencies, work site codes, and pandemic response.
- Leads weekly huddles with work site teams to ensure priorities are being met.
- Complies with all company and work site Human Resources protocols and all regulatory bodies requirements, the Collective Agreement and accrediting agencies.
- Recruit, coach, mentor, evaluate, and manage the performance and development of staff.
- Participates in Human Resource planning process, discipline and labour management activities.
- Oversee work site payroll and procedures and approves where required.
- Build collaborative relationships with customers and employees.
- Coach/mentor the work site teams (Storekeepers, Shipper/Receivers, and Buyers).
- Set high standards of excellence, leading by example, clarifying roles and responsibilities, providing clear directions and priorities, monitoring and celebrating progress and achievement.
- Demonstrate a broad understanding of financial management principles to achieve organizational goals.
- Maintain cost control in accordance with company and work site budget and participates in the budget process and variance analysis.
- Knowledge of financial/accounting processes related to inventory.
- Manage operations budget and inventory of $100k-$1M+
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with work site department managers, work site executive leadership, patients, contractors, suppliers and the community to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Foster a "Customer-Centric" culture within the department
- Performs his/her job according to safe work practices, following instructions and using the equipment provided.
- Participate in work site Health and Safety Program by undergoing safety training/education.
- Ensure all required equipment and protective devices are used in the prescribed manner.
- Ensure that all incidents/accidents/hazardous conditions are investigated promptly, the reports are completed on time and submitted as required, and corrective actions are taken.
Education, Training, and Experience:
- Post secondary degree in business or supply chain related field
- 5+ years management experience in a supply chain related field (Hospital, Warehousing, CPG)
- 1 - 2 years people leadership experience with 5+ direct reports
- NISCL, SCMP, P.Log or other supply chain certification.
- Experience supervising in a union environment and familiarity with collective bargaining
- 1-3 years' experience implementing operational changes, continuous improvement or LEAN processes
- 1-3 years' experience with materials management or supply chain software (Meditech, SAP, Allscripts, or other)
- As a condition of employment, you are required to submit proof of full COVID-19 vaccination to Human Resources upon hired
- Flexibility to travel to other sites/offices on occasions
