THE OPPORTUNITY

Galvion is looking for a Supply Chain Manager to oversee supply chain activities at our Newport, VT and Portsmouth, NH Armor Operations. We are open to candidates based in Montreal who are willing to work 3 days per week in the U.S., and 2 days per week at our Montreal office.

The main responsibility is to develop and lead the Newport\'s Sales, Inventory and Operations plan. In addition, the Supply Chain Manager will be responsible of all planning, scheduling, purchasing, inventory control, receiving and shipping activities at the plant (s). The Supply Chain Manager will provide function excellence to the plants focusing on processes improvement and ERP utilization to achieve the best overall supply lead time, quality, operations cost and inventory level.

The Supply Chain Manager will work with and/or lead cross functional teams on lean manufacturing projects and operations initiatives to continuously lower cost, improve lead times and eliminate process waste. In addition to project responsibilities, this leadership position will develop plans with direct reports to create a culture of personal responsibility and continuous improvement in the team.

SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops, implements and manages Armor Operation\'s Sales, Inventory and Operations plan.
  • Ensures all customers orders are fulfil according to the agreed supply lead time.
  • Ensures all Supply Chain processes and transactions are integrated into Syteline.
  • Implements-Maintain, with the support of the IT team, Syteline MRP module.
  • Optimizes Syteline utilization across Newport users to improve controls and supply agility.
  • Optimizes inventory level to prevent out of stock conditions, meet customer orders lead time and reduced working capital.
  • Develops pull systems for critical materials in conjunction with operations.
  • Manage and train Materials Supervisors, Planner and others team membersto enhance their job specific and soft skills with the objective of continuous improvement in product cost, quality and delivery.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions.
  • Selects, develops, and evaluates employees to ensure the efficient operation of the Supply Chain function.
  • Establish and maintain metrics to measure performance against forecasts, scheduling, purchasing, inventory, on time delivery and any other pertinent metrics.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Four-year (4) degree Supply Chain or Business related discipline or related experience (preferred).
  • 10 + years\' experience in Supply Chain Management preferred.
  • 10 + years\' experience working within a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Previous experience in Supply Chain including planning, scheduling, purchasing, warehousing, inventory management, shipping and receiving.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Must be able to use an analytical approach to drive problem solving.
  • Takes ownership for coordinating and implementing process improvements.
  • Detailed knowledge of at least one ERP system required, Syteline experience preferred.
  • Experience in leading Sales and Operations plan
  • Experience in developing/implementing shop floor management systems such as JIT, Kanban.
  • Experience with material planning systems to ensure the timely delivery of all needed materials.
  • Strong problem solving, communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience in ISO 9001 environments is a plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT (include physical requirements)
  • Office base and manufacturing environment.
  • Travel will be required between Galvion facilities (Montreal, Newport and Portsmouth)
