Overview:
The Supply Chain Manager leads a team of order management and logistics analysts with the goal of successfully managing all Canada customer and consumer orders from order receipt to delivery. Key responsibilities include: executing a successful fulfillment strategy, leading distribution activities (3PL process management and inventory control practices) at all facilities in Canada, representing all aspects of supply chain and operations on the regional leadership team, leading supply chain process improvement projects, facilitating the training and development of all team members, directing associates on chargeback resolution and avoidance, coaching on problem-solving and negotiating skills as well as developing and implementing efficiencies in our order fulfillment process to save money and better serve our customers.
Responsibilities:
Provide end-to-end regional supply chain leadership through direct and indirect reports (order management, distribution, demand planning) and drive planning activities to meet future strategies and business needs as they evolve.
Aim to achieve supply chain metrics by coordinating with direct and indirect reports to improve performance levels that are below set goals:
Supply Chain costs as a % of Sales
+ Fill Rate
+ Forecast Accuracy
+ Inventory Turns
+ End-to-End delivery performance for all customers (DTC, BTB)
Manage the selection, evaluation and development of order management and logistics analysts. Participate in recruitment/hiring for all other supply chain roles for Canada. Design staffing needs in alignment with the business's 3-year plan.
Use data provided by the team to develop solutions to complex problems and ensure documentation and procedures are in place to maximize the efficiency of logistics analysts (i.e. automation, elimination of tasks, productivity improvements etc.).
Plan and budget for Logistics costs (Distribution and Outbound Freight). Identify / anticipate potential financial impact of market conditions, capacity or staffing needs that impact budget or expenses. Develop recommendations for headcount/staffing needs along with budgeting overtime and travel as needed.
Manage the business relationship with 3rd party distribution partners, ensuring each facility's "value adding" activities meet our expectations and their obligations as outlined in the contract.
Review the performance metrics of the distribution facilities, participating in monthly scorecard reviews and quarterly business reviews, and direct corrective actions accordingly.
Manage the accuracy of inventory activities at all facilities.
Develop capacity planning recommendations and provide direction on space/warehouse needs and utilization.
Lead 3PL bid activities by identifying opportunities for new partnerships and locations and comparing cost quotes to select the best solution for BISSELL. Collaborate with Indirect Procurement to negotiate new contracts.
Ensure best-in-class support to BISSELL customers by the logistics analysts and order management team members. Direct and coach team on problem-solving and service skills.
Provide direction for inventory allocation activities through collaboration with the demand planning team.
Manage the implementation and adherence to customer requirements by the supply chain team. Collaborate with the Commercial Policy team as well as the Legal team on Vendor Compliance activities by evaluating routing guides and customer standards.
Responsible for leading the team on chargeback resolution and avoidance as well as collaborating with A/R, commercial team, and supply chain teams to recover costs from customers or logistics partners.
Ensure effective assignment of customer accounts/workload to order management team for proper account support and balance of activity. Establish continuity of business by ensuring all accounts have assigned and trained back-up's.
Able to adequately represent the needs of the department in IT solution discussions and have a high-level understanding of the impact the system has on the team's day-to-day as well as how changes/outages would affect the team's responsibilities.
Work autonomously and participate in determining objectives of assignments -- plan, prioritize and arrange activities in accordance with objectives. Report financial and operational KPIs/metrics monthly to leadership including action plans to address any shortcomings.
Contribute to cross-functional, special projects that improve efficiencies and/or save costs across the supply chain and broader organization.
