JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Materials Manager, the role will be responsible for physical and business system movements in/out of all warehouse locations, and the quantity/dollar accuracy and integrity of this Inventory. Work with various stakeholders on complex inventory transactions. Assure customer on time delivery and support optimizations of physical space and inventory levels. Assist other team members across the stores/warehouse/service group as needed to fulfill business requirements. Support inventory cycle counts and the yearly physical count process in a timely efficient manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Support all inventory control activities, including in/out transactions, picking, put-away, receiving and closing work orders, non-conformance status, etc.
  • Assignment of Part Inventory locations and ensure system segregation for production items
  • Responsible for install returns, coordinate work orders with planner, coordinate returns with buyers & finance
  • Advise best practices to deal with complex inventory transactions
  • Approve Purchase requisitions as required
  • Assist and participate with month end duties
  • Work with various stakeholders to ensure the proper reporting and disposition of non-conforming and warranty product & replacement parts are issued
  • Identify shortages that impact production and report/communicate appropriately
  • Physical lifting/moving of inventory items and carts
  • Identify BOM issues and track/communicate to stakeholders, including Engineering
  • Support the development and maintenance of Sales Orders and shipments
  • Perform audits and weekly cycle counts, reporting discrepancies and root cause
  • Support yearly physical inventory count process if required
  • Assist in supporting the analysis of inventory for potential excess and obsolescence
  • Assist with Inventory processes, or Shipping/Receiving as required
  • Work closely, and effectively communicates with different departments in areas such as Manufacturing, Quality, Service/Aftermarket, Engineering, Finance, IS, Facilities and logistics
  • Training/mentoring of new or temporary employees as needed
  • Assist in supporting the development and maintenance of policies and procedures
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and actively seek new ideas
  • Support optimization of warehouse space utilization and increased efficiencies
  • Support or maintain various reports and metrics on Department performance that are assigned
  • Provide support to auditors when required
  • Responsible for a clean and safe work environment
  • Act as a backup for other Materials group roles and locations
Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Post-Secondary degree ideally with a focus in Supply Chain, or Business, or equivalent work experience
  • Relevant designation (CPP, CPIM, PMAC) or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Ideally 7+ years of progressive experience in a Stores/Warehouse environment
  • Proficient with a stores/inventory ERP system (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office (Basic Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge and adherence to Health and Safety requirements and procedures within a warehouse environment
  • Self-motivated, self-starter with a positive outlook, high energy, and acts as a role model
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong team player, with the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary manufacturing environment
  • Recognize opportunities for improvement to methods, procedures, or services
  • Strong business acumen
